Amityville’s youngest learners at Northeast Elementary School held an amazing performance in front of their parents and teachers during the school’s annual Black History Month program on Feb. 14.

Directed by music teacher Megan Ashe, students and staff members performed a medley of songs in the school’s gymnasium such as “This Little Light of Mine,” “Peace Like a River,” and “Scat Like That.” The gymnasium also featured a decorative art showcase that was organized by art teacher Nicole Pappas.

Additionally, district administrators such as Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Mary Stephens, and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Dr. Bridgette Waite were in attendance for this year’s program.
